POMAは2023年、ハワイアン・ミュージシャンとして長年活躍してきた鶴岡和典と、ヴォーカリスト鈴木由美（Yumi）によって結成されました。現在は首都圏を中心に活動しています。
ユニット名「POMA（ボマ）」は、ハワイ語で「りんご」を意味します。二人が敬愛するビートルズ、そして”林檎”にまつわるエピソードから名付けられました。
ファーストアルバム『’Ula』リリース後、その音楽性が高く評価され、翌年にはハワイの権威ある音楽賞 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awares 2025 International部門のファイナリストに選出されました。
2024年には、パークリー音楽大学出身のギタリスト児玉陸、そしてメジャーデビュー経験を持つベーシスト北村規夫が加入、サウンドはさらに深化し、2025年11月には、4人の感性と技術が結実したセカンドアルバム『KOKO』をリリースしました。
POMA was formed in 2023 by Hawaiian musician Kazunori Tsuruoka and vocalist Yumi Suzuki (Yumi), both long active in Japan’s Hawaiian music community. Based in the Tokyo metropolitan area, the group performs throughout Japan.
The name POMA, meaning “apple” in Hawaiian, was inspired by the members’ admiration for The Beatles and the symbolism of the apple that connects to their musical journey.
After the release of their debut album ‘Ula, POMA received recognition for its unique musical style and was selected as a finalist in the International Album category at the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards, Hawaiʻi’s most prestigious music awards.
In 2024, guitarist Riku Kodama and bassist Norio Kitamura joined the group, further expanding its musical depth. Their second album, KOKO, was released in November 2025.
With deep respect for Hawaiian culture and tradition, POMA combines contemporary musical sensibilities with expressive band arrangements, sharing music that connects Japan and Hawaiʻi with audiences around the world.

幼い頃から多様な音楽に触れ、2007年のハワイ留学後は、ハワイの伝統を学び尊重しながら、自分らしい歌のスタイルを追求している。
出産と育児経験も経て、聴く人の心に寄り添う音楽を届けている。

Exposed to diverse music from an early age, Yumi studied in Hawaiʻi in 2007 and has since pursued her own vocal style while honoring Hawaiian traditions.

鶴岡和典 Kazunori Tsuruoka

幼少期よりウクレレを習得。大阪芸術大学卒業後、ハワイアン音楽を研究し音楽活動開始。現在、演奏活動の他「アロハ・ミュージック・アカデミー」を主宰し指導にあたっている。多彩なアレンジと温かみのあるギターサウンドを生み出す。

Having played the ukulele since childhood, Kazunori Tsuruoka studied Hawaiian music after graduating from Osaka University of Arts and went on to build a career as a performer and arranger.
Alongside his performing activities, he directs the Aloha Music Academy. His music is distinguished by imaginative arrangements and a warm, richly textured guitar sound.
児玉陵 Ryo Kodama

小学校時代をアメリカで過ごし、ボストンの名門バークリー音楽大学（Berklee College of Music）を卒業。様々なジャンルへの深い造詣とテクニックを活かし、しなやかで表情豊かなプレイスタイルでバンドサウンドを支えている。

東京都出身。都内を中心に全国で幅広いジャンルのライブやレコーディングに参加。グルーヴ豊かなベースラインと、音楽全体を包み込む安定感で、POMAのサウンドに芯を与えている。
Born in Tokyo, Norio Kitamura performs and records with artists across Japan in a wide range of musical genres. With his groove-driven bass lines and steady presence, he provides a strong foundation that gives POMA’s sound its depth and character.
